She can't keep me out

Good morning, after trying to update my blog yesterday I thought the member of the congregation's blog that I have sneaked onto had blocked me. Well she can't stop me. My technical skills far outway hers so here I am.
I am sorry that I have not updated earlier but there is so much to do around the chapel especially during harvest.
( Mainly eating of course) I mean tidying up after all those big people leave crumbs and dust all over the place.  I was nearly caught my the big loud mam from the cottage. I was sitting getting the last of the sun in the garden when seemingly from nowhere came the minister. He didn't see me as I hid behind a tree in the garden. I heard him saying there was going to be a service this Friday night in the chapel. That means I will have to make myself scarce but there may be rich picking for a midnight feast me thinks.

Everyone needs a holiday

I know some of you may have missed me over the last couple of weeks but with all the talk of holidays around the chapel I thought I would see what everyone was talking about. Well was I in for some adventures. I smuggled my way into someones suitcase and headed of to Manchester Airport. We landed in Italy to the most glorious but hot hot hot weather. Now I don't know if any of you know but mice don't like too much sun, it burns our sensitive ears.
I did manage to sneak into the local supermarket and spent hours at the cheese counter. The choices were mind blowing. Gorganzola, all blue and runny, pecorino, made from the milk of sheep wonderful.
Now here is a little quiz for you. I managed to get on board one of the Italian superfast trains and go for a visit to a famous Italian city. The photos will give you a clue. In the first I am getting ready to ride a funny looking boat and in the second I had just tried a famous drink called a bellini. Never again it made me all light headed and feeling dizzy.I nearly fell into a canal. Where am I . I might be going to Italy!!!!

Hey everyone I'm getting a little braver and venturing outdoors. Guess what I found a friend. I must say he spends most of the day reading but was most impressed by my gold olympic medal. He is very clever and knows loads of useful stuff The weather has meant I have spent long hours in the sunshine and eating all the crumbs I find left over from the picnics that everyone seems to be having. I have found a good look out post to sit on so I can run away before the big people come. The small ones seem OK but the big ones seem so clumsy I am afraid of getting squashed. It's OK to be afraid and when I spoke to my new friend the reading ant about it he says that when you are afraid it is good to talk to someone about it as they may well be able to help. He suggested that if I think the big people may squash me to stand very still and be careful to look around. Here is my new lookout post

Guess what I overheard the other day.... One of the congregation is going on holiday to Italy. Well have you ever tasted Italian cheese mmmmm..... I may well have to jump in the case and get some fresh supplies so if I don't speak ...squeak   for a while I may well be up to my neck in Gorgonzola

Did you see the olympics?

I told you all last week about my present of Wallace and Gromit Cheese. What I didn't realise was that it was sent from the great cheese eating coach to prepare me for the mouse olympic  sport of cheese gorging. What a contest the field mouse from Dunham Massey nearly poloished off a whole round of Stilton butwas disqualified for not sharing.  As you can see I have been awarded the 1st Team GB  gold medal. I feel so bloated that I can't take part in the other more athletic events but I am proud to have gained this important medallion.

You might be interested in what was going on in Chapel today? It was a busy Sunday with people getting up our of there pews and putting flowers in a big basket on the front table. ( I think I heard someone call it the alter) Well when everyone had been up to the front it was altered. Take a look at the beautiful basket of flowers that they made. I thought it was a floral tribute for the cheese gorging winner... No just as everyone had made there way back to their pews and managed to get cosy and comfortable  the big man asked everyone to come and take the flowers home with them. I managed to grab a beautiful red rose just before the stampede. Phew . I though I would post a picture of the blooming big basket Lovely aint it!

See you next week Unity

Say cheese and smile

I was so excited today that I could not wait until Sunday to tell you my news Life is good , as I have decided to investigate my Chapel building.  I have ventured into the small schoolroom only to find that I, Unity Mouse, have mail. No,not email , but real mail. There in a big cold white cupboard was a parcel with my most favorite cheese. Wallace and Gromit Wensleydale Cheese. Now I was surprised  to find out that Gromit is a dog as I had always thought he was my long lost cousin Gromit Mouse from the other side of the Pennines. It was well wrapped and took some time to get through to the good stuff, and did I stuff myself. There was some awful wailing going on in the small schoolroom whilst I was tucking in. Then it went quiet and the row started all over again. Singing Meditation they call it . Getting in touch with your spiritual side. Well I made myself busy getting in touch with my inside. Yum Yum

I was so stuffed that I fell asleep in the cold cupboard and then had to eat a little more cheese just to get me going again.
 Thankyou my anonyMOUSE benefactor .

Another Noisy Sunday

There was I just smelling the fragrant flowers that a nice lady called Jenny puts in  the chapel to make my home a little more homely when that big thing with black and white teeth started grumbling into life again. I know that's the time all the people come in the place to stand and sit and shuffle in the pews.
I like to sit on the machine during the week when it is quiet and quite comfortable to sit on.
Then the lady I think they call her Margaret comes in bumps the black and white teeth around and it makes such a loud noise. I have to say that Margaret is quite comfy to snuggle up to during the service. I don't think she noticed me. Just when I thought they had all gone out several came back and started singing. The Choir Oh I wish they would practice somewhere else and let me get back to sleep.
See you Unity

Hello to one and all, a mouse with technical problemsome

Hi everyone, I thought I would never get this picture thing sorted, have I had a week! Oh for those of you who have not met me I'm Unity Mouse and I live in Dunham Road Unitarian Chapel. I used to run around the place thinking that no one could see me and then suddenly Noah, one of our Junior Chapel members started talking to me. What a surprise ! I am now an honorary member of the group.

Not only was I allowed to join the group but I went out on my first visit to John Leigh Park with them  Martha Held on to me tightly as I was afraid of the crocodile. Helen didn't even notice me . She is the grown up at the back.
I got dizzy on the roundabout and was glad when it finished spinning. Fortunatley my new friend Noah held me on the swing until my head caught up with my feet.

Did you know they have a pets corner at John Leigh Park I was careful  not to get left in a cage. But I did eat some seed that the birds dropped  Yummy. I have told the my new friends that I will let them know what goes on in and about the Chapel when they are not here so look out for my weekly tit bits of news. Signing off

Hi There

Hi I'm a little nervous about starting this blog but a mouse had to get into the techy age sometime.

I live in a large Chapel in Altrincham  UK
Dunham Road Unitarian Chapel to give it its full name .
I am not usually seen and hide between the pews or up near the organ. During the week it is a  little quiet but on a Sunday I move as far away from the organ as I can get as the noise nearly blows my head off.. There is usually enough to eat from the odd crumbs that get left behind, but my absolute favorite time of year is Harvest when I fill my store to the brim for the winter.
I thought it was about time that people knew what goes on in this Chapel and I certainly get the best views and hear all the gossip.
